The Legend

The High Lonesome Drifters are a five-piece outlaw country and southern rock band based in Phoenix, Arizona.

What began as an ad-hoc group of seasoned players gathered to bring Brian Owens' original compositions to life has since evolved into a powerhouse of the Phoenix country scene.

The band blends the raw honesty of the songwriter storyteller with a dust storm of hot licks and driving grooves. What was once a temporary arrangement quickly revealed a permanent chemistry—a collective of drifters ready to saddle up and ride in to bring the house down.

The Drifters

Brian Owens

Vocals / Rhythm Guitar / Songwriting

Born in the West Texas border town of El Paso, and raised in Silver City, New Mexico, the boyhood home of Billy the Kid, Brian has been covered in the dust of the outlaw trail his entire life. Nowhere is this more apparent than Brian's songwriting; a blend of campfire storytelling and whiskey-burned life experience.

A musician for more than 30 years, and influenced by the likes of The Highwaymen, Pantera, and Blues Traveler, Brian continues to enjoy entertaining audiences with his unique style of Outlaw Americana.

Andrew "Goosey" Hughes

Lead Guitar / Vocals / Bird Calls

Wildman extraordinaire, Andrew grew up in the Appalachian pines of Georgia. Nothing is off the table for this southern gentleman, except, of course, mediocrity. Be it shredding a sweet lead, or belting out a high-range banger, Andrew brings his A Game; Every. Single. Time.

The only member of the group who studied guitar at a collegiate level, Andrew's musical influences vary widely, from Led Zeppelin to Waylon Jennings. He now gives back to the musical community, teaching music to kids and adults alike, ensuring the next generation of outlaw rockers are ready to take the stage.

Dave Foegal

Bass / Vocals

Hailing from The Bay area of California, Dave's prowess on bass has been honed for decades by the hard thumping and fastpaced world of punk, ska, and alternative rock. Never one to turn down a good challenge, Dave now lays the foundation for a style of music as foreign to him as cowboy boots on a skater. Nevertheless, nobody makes musicianship look as easy as Dave does.

A 30 year musician, and shaped by the likes of Weezer, The Beatles, and Spoon, Dave can be found drifting where he's needed, like a four string wielding ronin.

John Jacobson

Drums

A cornhusker by birth, John comes from the Midwest plains of Nebraska. John has been keeping things in time for almost 40 years. Not a stranger to big crowds, nor rowdy venues, John's priority is a well-executed good time.

With influences like Zeppelin, Johnny Cash, and The Beatles, John is a natural fit to unify the varied sound arrangements and stylings of the Drifters.

Robert Adams

Lead Guitarist

Growing up in the concrete canyons of Chi-town, Robert harnessed his guitar shredding skills at a young age. An engineer by trade, Robert's meticulous attention to detail is likewise evidenced in his taste in music, having been influenced by the likes of prog-rocks giants Rush and Yes. Even so, Zeppelin also ranks as one of his favorites.

Thanks to a childhood introduction to The Man in Black, Robert is no stranger to outlaw country. Thusly, he was a natural choice to add the crunchy rhythms and harmonic pairings to the Drifters unique sound.
